I have been commissioned to create a Phoenix-Dragon Tiara for an upcoming fall wedding. I expect that this will be my most elaborate jewelry creation to date. I have enlisted the help of Michael Leeds, a renowned Santa Cruz artist, to create a “road map” for this design that has been enthusiastically approved by my clients, C and J. Three exceptional opals will be incorporated within the Tiara, one Australian Crystal Opal that will embellish the dragon half of the Tiara, and two fiery Mexican Fire Opals that will accentuate the Phoenix half of the Tiara.
The project will take several weeks to carve in the wax and many more weeks to bring to completion.
