Cloisonné Adventure

In October, John and I took Merry-Lee Rae’s week long cloisonné workshop. Merry-Lee  is one of my dearest friends and it was a privilege to experience and immerse myself in her creative environment. In addition, it was a joy to sit elbow to elbow with my son and make jewelry together. Below are the two cloisonnés that I created in the class, set in 18K gold.

With Christmas quickly approaching and John’s December birthday, I decided to create one of a kind settings for both of the cloisonné’s to give to  John and Alisha. December was a crazy busy time for Marty Magic so although I completed the wax settings, the pieces were not cast time.  I gift wrapped the cloisonné’s and their wax settings along with promissory notes.  Both would be cast in 18K gold and Alisha and John could choose gemstones for the bottom accent drops on our trip February trip to the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show.
