Bloginity has just posted an article about Urban Outfitters Snake Ear Cuff “similarity” to the Marty Magic Snake Ear Cuff. It’s called “Looking For A Steal? Try The Snakes of Urban Outfitters“. It’s a good article. I am disappointed that a major American corporation would behave this way. I am not opposed to products made overseas, but design piracy is wrong.
I would much rather be designing than litigating. –Marty
Shocking how they don’t seem to care, even when you found them out.
I hope you teach them a lesson in court

Shame on Urban Outfitters.
I have so many wonderful things accumulated from art shows and I truly appreciately their originality.
Marty, I never shopped at Urban Outfitters before and this just ensures I will never, ever shop with them. They need to know who their suppliers are. Aren’t they blaming the vendor they purchased the cuffs from? It’s such an obvious steal of your design, even down to your mark!! I know this kind of things happens all the time but it just upsets me that there are so many opportunists with no creativity of their own, steal someone else’s designs, passing them off as their own all for greed. So, so wrong at all levels. Too bad you have to go through this, Marty. Hope to see you at the Mountain View festival this month, though.
I will also never go into that store. I’ve had one of my designs stolen many years ago. I was crushed. I’m so sorry this happened to you. You are a great designer and I cannot help but wonder at the thoughts that went through the copier’s mind. Sinful.
