Drum rolls again for my talented daughter, Alisha.  We proudly introduce her newly hatched Leopard Gecko Charm.  This is only her fifth design (as a professional jeweler)  but each of her 5 creations shows a marked development.  I will have to step up my game if I am to retain title as the master designer of Marty Magic Jewelry.

Leopard Gecko Charm

Although Alisha and I work together almost daily, most of our time is spent handling the business of being in business.  Our most cherished times are those spent together, elbow to elbow at our work station creating designs that come from our hearts.

Aside from a cat and a dog,  Alisha’s first pets were two Leopard Geckos.  She loved and  nurtured “Hortense and Mergatroid” and like her mother celebrates the scaly inhabitants of our planet.

I’m often asked about graduation gift suggestions.

We gave our son, John this gold owl ring when he graduated from Santa Cruz High.  Two years later he still proudly wears this ring on his pointer finger.  The Owl is a symbol of wisdom and this ring is available in both gold ($2395) and sterling silver ($145)

This circle of Fishy Friends is presented here on a charm bracelet but each of the characters can be purchased separately and added to your at home aquarium.  Complicated filtration systems are not needed and your charm will shine on for generations with no more care than an occasional rub of Mrs. Wrights  silver cream.  (Please note that liquid silver dips are toxic to these fish and all of Marty’s sterling silver pieces.)

Angel Kitty Ear Cuff

My new Angel Kitty Ear Cuff is ready to take flight in both sterling silver and in bronze. The inspiration for this whimsical Angel Kitty Ear Cuff design fell from the heavens, quite by accident. Alisha was putting away an assorted pile of freshly polished ear cuffs and came into my studio laughing.  The Angel Heart Ear Cuff  and Cat Ear Climber Cuff were stuck together, the wings of the angel heart wrapping up around the cat like a pair of angel wings.  I’ve combined and modified these two ear cuff designs into a new and “Angelic” version of my Cat Ear Climber. Purrrr

Alisha’s precious Sugar Glider Charm is now ready for adoption.  I am proud of my daughter’s quick mastery of wax carving and delighted with her new creation.

Some fun facts about Sugar Gliders:

They are marsupials and after birth, navigate into the protection of their mother’s pouch until fully developed.

They can glide up to 150 feet using the membranes between their hands and feet somewhat like a parachute and their long tails as navigational rudders.

Their habitat is in the forests of Australia, New Guinea and Indonesia where they dine on the sweet sap of the eucalyptus, acacia and gum trees with a few juicy insects and small vertebrates tossed into the salad.

They are nocturnal and have opposable thumbs on all four of their hands.
